Commemorative Service and Reception – 6th October 2013

The St Anne’s Centenary Commemorative Service was a huge success. The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Rev. Lorna Hood was in attendance; she was a delight to meet and to hear preach and was appreciative of everything that was happening in St. Anne’s.
Thank you to everyone, from near and far, who came to the Reception; we hope you enjoyed the lovely food and drinks and met some interesting folks for a chat. The sound level early on indicated that this was the case.
Many, many thanks are due to lots of people, as they say in ‘Strictly’ – in no particular order, step forward and take a bow – those who designed and organised the invitations and those who delivered them; those who wrote articles for the local magazines; St. Anne’s Guides who made the decorations for the hall; all those ladies and gentlemen who contributed a variety of canapés, they all looked fantastic and our special waitresses and waiters who handed round the trays and plates of food. The drinks were varied and plentiful; the background piano music was most enjoyable; the flower arrangements were beautiful and last, but by no means least, the Celebration Cake looked fabulous and tasted wonderful (Mary Berry eat your heart out). |
So, from the organising team of Anne and Ken, Myrtle and Carol a fervent and grateful thanks to everyone.
