St Anne’s Parish Church of Scotland
Organist
St Anne’s Church, Corstorphine, is seeking to appoint an organist, following the appointment of the current post-holder to a full-time post in England.
St Anne’s is a well-established, friendly church, situated in the west of Edinburgh. It benefits from modern, recently upgraded facilities.
St Anne’s has an Arthur Ingram Pipe Organ which is well maintained and has been upgraded since it was first built in 1922. For further details on the organ visit our website at www.stannescorstorphine.org.uk/church-organ.html. There is also a Petrof Concert Grand Piano, suitable for services and for concert performances.
The duties include playing the organ at Sunday morning worship and at other services as required by the Kirk Session, and liaising with the minister in the development and use of music within worship.
The church has a tradition of choral music, with a small, dedicated adult choir leading strong congregational participation. At present, the choir meets for practice on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings before worship, between the months of September and June. There would be an opportunity for the successful candidate to take on the Choir Leader role, should they wish to.
An allowance for the purchase of music for organ and choir is available. The salary is set in accordance with the Scottish Federation of Organists.
If you are interested in this appointment, and would like further information, please contact the Minister, Rev Jamie Griggs, [email protected], 0131 316 4740.
Applications, by email or in writing, to: The Rev Jamie Griggs, St Anne's Parish Church, 1 Kaimes Road, Corstorphine, Edinburgh, EH12 6JR
